At Maritalia Company Limited every area of our operation has a safety policy: site organization, work at height, structural stability, cranes, electricity, fire, mobile plant and vehicles and demolition.

Our health and safety policy objective is to provide and maintain a safe and healthy workplace, safe guard plants and equipment and implement practical safe systems of work. Maritalia Company Limited is committed to providing the safest possible working environment to anybody entering our sites, which include employees, contractors, customers or visitors.

We maintain a culture where workplace accidents are preventable — for which all our people are responsible.

 

SAFETY

As soon as a contract is awarded, the project mobilization team is assigned on a full time basis to the project under project manager supervision. Senior engineers for civil construction, temporary works and programming departments are assigned to the project during the mobilization phase. The team headed by the project manager is commissioned to prepare detailed programs of works including method statement, materials, procurement schedules personnel, construction equipment, cash flow forecast, site installation drawings, temporary camp installation, project offices, budget requirement, purchase orders and other miscellaneous services.

 

POLICY STATEMENT

It is the policy of MARITALIA LIMITED that its operations shall be carried out at all times in such a manner as to ensure that the health, safety and welfare of all its employees and all persons likely to be affected by its operations including the subcontractors, the client, the host community and the general public are safeguarded, and that the same dedication will be shown for the protection and conservation of the environment. The policy is the direct responsibility of the company’s senior management team for overall implementation. MARITALIA is committed to work within all government legislation, rules, regulations and standard of HSES. All government legislations, rules and other standards of HSES, including MARITALIA CASH policies shall constitute the watchword for all Hermes employees. MARITALIA liaises with other professional bodies on HSES for the maintenance and sustenance of good practices of HSES in all its operations.

MARITALIA, as much as possible shall result all unskilled and semi-skilled workers from within the community of its operations on the principle or work to earn year pay. It is the company’s policy to sustain appropriate training for all MARITALIA and sub-contractor’s personnel to ensure that MARITALIA and other legislations, rules and regulations and standard on HSES are known, observed and implemented in all its operations.
